I spent the day at Sylvain house to finally have a long time project completed.
Sylvain crashed his GSXR bike 7 years ago on the side of a car pulling an unexpected u-turn in the middle of the road. He found himself crushed between the car and his bike while his girlfriend passenger flew over the car. As a result he became paralysed from the waist down.
Sylvain is no whining guy. Since that fateful day, he has completed a school for racing mechanics. He is a full time member of an Endurance racing team in my hometown. He has been to the 24 Hours of Le mans for many years now and even flew to Qatar with the team for a race. Last fall he skydived again for the first time since his army training days.
In October I am hoping to witness him ride a bike again. He has been working hard to design and build a landing gear system on a CBR954.
But today I needed his skills to build a Tripod holder on my bike. And he did it in a few hours perfectly. I am really pleased with the result, and it solved a big headache for my upcoming trips. passenger or not, busy town or not, my tripod is out of mind now.
