Just came back yesterday from the annual ride with the Brad gang. We had a new member this year in the person of Jeff, who I rode with a couple of times over the last couple of years.
The week went by too quickly as usual, and this year we had about 50% of good weather, and managed to ride about 30 minutes in a good little snow storm at the top of crater lake.
Our destination was down to south Oregon, and for the first time we took Interstate 5 for the first and last day, to try to make time. This is all good as long as you can avoid Everett(WA) roadworks joke.
‘We sadly lost one bike on this ride when Milan hit the wet center line on the way down from crater lake. After a good check up in hospital, and one broken rib, he went home by air the next morning in Medford (OR).
This was the first serious touring for the HP2 in the motard configuration. I carried a gas can for nothing for the first 4 days, and forced evrybody to fill up almost every other hour. I definitively need to sort out the luggage capacity issue. On another note, my butt survived remarkably well. This probably due to the cool weather for most of the week.
