Out of gas.

  • by

Today we covered a lot of ground compare to yesterday. Well at least it felt like it.
I enjoyed Zion better this time around. I am now extremely motivated to come back here and hike ‘Angel Landing’.
But the adventure of the day was in the desert. As we travelled just North of Area 51 on the ‘extraterrestrial highway’ I finally managed to run out of gas on the HP2. The little town of Rachel had no gas, and I felt short by 40 miles.
Combine this with a ride though a lightning storm and we had the perfect adventure exciting day.
Thanks to a welder guy and his son from Las Vegas, and a couple from wyoming camping in the desert, I was rescued in less than 2 hours. But it could have been much much longer.
When Brad took off in search of gas after my ‘syphon’ failed to work, I had a strange sensation. I was not scared or in panic. I just felt really good, like something exciting happening to me.
All this to end up in a pretty gloomy town called Tonopah(NV). Once the second largest location of gold and silver, it is falling into disrepair.
