The bad weather in Idaho, Wyoming and Montana, has driven us towards California, to get back home.
I was pretty excited at the prospect of seeing the Yosemite National park, which is the second most visited park in the US after the Grand Canyon I believe.
Well Brad and I were not in the right state of mind for this. After crossing many desert over the last few days, it was really hard to adjust to the Yosemite traffic mayhem. So it was a quick pick-a-boo and away we went. The highlight of the road home has to be Hwy 49 in California, which is associated with the Gold rush. The road is great but by section only. Sadly the urban prowl seems to have caught up those really nicely maintain historical towns. Coulterville in the South and Downieville in the North are the two names of places who got my attention.
We rode Lassen this year again and stopped by Crater lake to be eaten alive by some really annoying little mosquitoes. Then road closures and bad road choices made for a bad day on Wednesday on our way to Portland.
Mt St Helene once again eluded us due to a bridge being washed out. But a nice little road off the Columbia gorge made up for the hick-up. The trip ended in a bit of rain on the west of Washington pass, and a last nostalgic crossing onboard the Albion Ferry.
So I realized that I have V’s blog bookmarked, and not yours. So I went to yours, and realizes why I don’t have it bookmarked – you hardly ever update it! Get with it. June 19th?! That’s pathetic 😉
I only write about bike related stuff, and do you have any idea how long it takes to go through all the photos?
That’s why. No personal blog.
