Today we achieved one target and failed at another. We achieved the crossing of the Arctic Circle, but the bad weather has forced us to cancel our Prudhoe Bay objective. Snow, yep blizzard conditions are still in effect up there. This is a disappointment, but not worth the risk.
Still this was a memorable day for all. Crossing the brooks range, and riding on the permafrost above the tree line is an unforgettable experience for sure.
Another surprise was the lack of wildlife. All day I was on my guard, all for nothing. Now if we look at the map, one would wonder why animals would hang along this single/unique road crossing this immense territory.
