Day Off in Vegas

Las Vegas (NV) – Las Vegas (NV) – 293Km

Okay we are monday today. And on Mondays dealerships are closed. Goddamn I am wasting a full day here. I am not a happy bunny. So I can of veggie a bit and catch up on some emails at the hotel.
In the afternoon I decided to go check out the other end of Las Vegas boulevard. I only so part of this crazy boulevard last week. Well well. Nat in SF told me that it was rather depressing to see those wedding chapels. She was right. This area of town is in dire need of a retrofit. terrible, and further I go more unsafe I feel. Weird, this town is really a town of contrast.
I finally headed out of town again, after trying to find a place to buy a helmet. I am suspicious of my current and first helmet.
I reached Red rock canyon by late afternoon, and the colors are amazing. There I met up a goldwing rider from pennsylvania who happen to be an iron butt rider. So two stranger in a strange town, we decided to have dinner together and chit chat for a little bit.
My evening plan is to go get the tripod and camera and come back out on the boulevard to take more night shots of the casinos. But about a block from my hotel, I see a guy with a dirt-bike on the pavement who seems to be in trouble. So pulled over to see what was going on. Turned out that his brand new KTM blew a fuse. So I said no problem, there should be a spare one in the beemer toolkit. Well i had no clue how wrong this statement was. The new R1200GS does not have a fuse box. That’s right the new electronic system is totally fuse free. So in the end I waited by the KTM on the side of the road while the owner went in Taxi to get his car/trailer combo. By then I was too beat up to bother heading out again.

Keystone thrust.

Red rock canyon.

This tire is looking rather square.
