Brantôme

  • by

A family member and a buddy riding their shiny Harleys lead us today to Brantôme a small town home of a Benedictine Abbey of Brantôme, which was founded in 769 by Charlemagne. This was my first real ride since breaking my ankle back in May. It was a perfect sunny day today, and even if I believe to have been to Brantôme before, I had no recollection of this place. The abbey is remarquable because it is build right beside some ancient cave carved out of a sandstone cliff. The river Dronne also encircle the entire town center, giving it a really cool atmosphere and look. The last oddity in town, is a 90 degree bridge crossing the river.
