Thursday morning 8 o’clock so the re-opening of the cascade highway in Washington state. Since I have done that road a few times but always late in the summer, I thought that it would be nice to go check it out while there are still a good layer of snow. What a great call. Almost 8 feet of snow bank in places. And yet a perfectly dry and smooth pavement as only the states can deliver.
Brad and Andrew accepted my invitation to tag along. We had a great and uneventful day until we narrowly miss being hit by an avalanche near the summit ion our way back. But that is a whole other story.
