Today I lead our canadians adventurer to a really nice region called ‘The Lot’. Famous for its duck and geese produces, it is also a very dry part of France. The ground is not as granitic, and caves abound. One of the famous ones is the chasm of Padirac. After descending deep under ground, the tour takes place along a river onboard some sort of gondolas. Really cool and a truly alive cave, unlike most found in nevada and Arizona which are mostly dry caves.
The town of Rocamadour is a protected site and among the most visited village in the country. It is understandable when you discover the location and set-up. Located on the path to compostello, it still attract pilgrims today, who come to see the black virgin in the abbey which is hanging mid cliff above the town.
