La Rochelle

  • by

Today and tomorrow I am in a small coastal French town called ‘La Rochelle’.
I have many memories in this town especially during my early student/driving years. It is a small town but with a very good atmosphere. It is full of life thanks to a couple of great schools and a university. It is also a famous harbour on the atlantic coast, with a long and rich history.

About 30 minutes South is the really small town Fouras at the start of a peninsula. There you can catch a foot passenger ferry to an island with no car. I lived a couple of months in the summer of 83-84 in a summer camp. It changed my personality for ever. So it is always with emotion that I swing by the area whenever I am nearby.
