Homer to Tok

  • by

We had one really long and rainy day to reach the Alaska ‘riviera’ known as Homer, on the South side of the Kenai peninsula. Well it is kind of riviera, except that you are surrounded by volcanos and no less than seven icefields. The rain stopped, a bit of sun came out but the temperatures did not go up one bit.

Homer was quite interesting, but riding the Kenai and to Seward then along the turnagain arm under beautiful skies took the prize for me. Gorgeous day.
The ride from Palmer to Tok today was not so nice weather wise with numerous showers playing cat and mouse with us. Luckily we had enough of a break at the Matanuska Glacier, which was a spectacular experience.
