The highlight of the trip for me took place today during the visit of the Souq Al Watif. Yesterday in the dunes it felt a bit touristic. Since Qatar is not at all geared towards tourism, this is a strong statement.
Today we felt some authenticity in the Souq. We were surrounded by locals in vast numbers.
It probably helped to visit a newly refurbished Souq which felt clean and secure. Smells and temperatures variations were everywhere too.
